Faucet Aerator Sizes

Faucet aerators reduce your water flow to help you save water. If you are replacing an old aerator or installing a new one, you need to find the right sized aerator for your faucet. Different faucets have different sized spouts, so each requires a different sized aerator.  Click here if you want to learn how to replace a faucet aerator.

Kitchen Faucet Aerators

male and female aerators

Male and female aerators fit on different types of faucets.

Large size – 15/16 inch diameter aerator

Medium size – 55/64 inch diameter aerator

Small size – 13/16 inch diameter

Typical kitchen faucets use either a male or female threaded aerator. Male aerators have the threads on the outside, female aerators have threads on the inside.

Bathroom Faucet Aerators

Small – 13/16 inch diameter

Large – 15/16 inch diameter

Bathroom faucets typically use a male or female threaded aerator.

Aerators include a nozzle, a plastic strainer and a rubber compression washer that fits on top of the strainer.  View article on how to replace faucet aerators.

Choose a 1.5 gallon per minute aerator for lower water flow, or a 2 gallon per minute aerator for higher water flow. The high flow aerators are ideal for kitchen faucets.
